I’ve been connected to Jesi Lea Ryan on twitter for a while, and I’ve been a quiet stalker on her blog, and here’s one thing I can tell you about Jesi: Every time I see her avatar, I don’t know what it is, but I just feel GOOD. There’s something about her that I think brings our happiness in people, and I bet we can expect that from her writing as well. That’s why I’m excited Jesi is participating in the Books Against Bullying Campaign. I just know her writing will bring joy to the lives of many young adults!
Here is the statement Jesi wanted to issue to anyone out there who has been on the receiving end of bullying:
You hear in a lot of anti-bullying videos say, “It gets better.” This is true, I promise you. But knowing that doesn’t help you now. My advice is to tell someone, anyone. A parent, a teacher, a coach—any trusted adult. If they don’t take you seriously, tell someone else. Don’t give up until someone helps you. The worst thing you can do is suffer in silence.
